The CatWatch search engine uses most of the standard search techniques. Some of the most common that you might be interested in using are...

  • Search for exact phrases using quotation marks (" ")
    Typing "kidney disease" will find items with those exact words in sequence.

  • Use a wildcard (*) for multiple endings
    By typing an * (asterisk symbol) at the end of a word, you can search for items with multiple endings. For example: nutrition* would return items such as nutrition, nutritional, nutritionally, etc.

  • Use the minus sign (-) to narrow your search
    If you enter allergies -asthma, that tells the search engine to include the word allergies but not asthma. Don't forget - there's no space after the sign (e.g. -spay, -neuter).

Returns items containing the word allergies and will exclude all items containing the word asthma in the story
