Vladimir Kazakov | iStock Siamese (pictured) and Burmese kittens may show signs of a congenital vestibular problem. Signs may be seen as early as 3 to 4 weeks of age. Siamese kittens often improve by 4 months. Burmese kittens tend to remain static in their symptoms, and a genetic basis for this condition is suspected in both breeds.

Cats with a vestibular problem may have a head tilt, walk in an uncoordinated fashion, lean or roll to one side, circle, and/or experience nystagmus, an oscillating, rhythmic motion of the eyeballs.
