Outbreak killed 365 cats

In September 2021, we wrote about an outbreak of pancytopenia, a disease that decreases the number of blood cells, in the United Kingdom. The disease killed 63.3% of the 580 affected cats. A recent article in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine says that researchers believe the food was contaminated by mycotoxins, which are produced by certain types of molds.
