National Center for Veterinary Parasitology offers new service

In an effort to identify the tick species in pets across the United States, the National Center for Veterinary Parasitology (NCVP) at Oklahoma State University is offering a free tick identification service. This service will also provide data to characterize the tick-borne disase agents carried by ticks in different geographic regions. The NCVP has identified over 1,000 individual ticks so far and plans to continue through the end of 2019. The NCVP will accept samples from anyone, although they are targeting veterinary practices.
