Monitor Impacted Bowels

If not monitored and addressed, this problem can progress to life-threatening megacolon

Q:  I have a 2-year-old male cat that has had two bouts of impacted bowels in two years and has had to have enemas both times. I have changed his food many times trying to regulate him, and he is currently on dry and wet food daily. After this last bowel issue, I changed him to a prescription diet with high fiber and probiotics, as advised by our veterinarian.
