
Kittens are defined as cats under 1 year of age. That year covers a lot of growing up and socializing. The ideal period for socializing kittens is considered to be 2 to 9 weeks of age, although some people would push that out to 12 weeks. Kittens who have not had positive human/kitten interactions by 4 months of age can be very difficult to socialize and may always be stressed by interactions with people.
